Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport prepare to contest round three of their Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship campaign as they head to Snetterton, Norfolk this weekend.
The team and Jake experienced the full range of emotions last time out in round two. A brace of P4 finishes secured a healthy points total before a puncture in the third and final race denied Jake the opportunity to clinch a podium, leaving the team with a feeling of what might have been.
Jake and the WSR-run BMW 330e M Sport have shown that they have the pace to fight at the front of the pack, and they will be looking for maximum points at Snetterton this weekend.
The 2.99-mile circuit in Norfolk, which draws inspiration from iconic motorsport corners such as Monza’s Parabolica and the Montreal Hairpin, is a firm favourite among spectators. Jake will no doubt be full of confidence having secured a front row start and a brace of podiums at the circuit last season.
Sharing his thoughts ahead of the weekend, Jake said:
"I’m looking forward to Snetterton this weekend, especially after the mixed emotions of Brands. The BMW historically goes well around here so I’m hoping to be fighting at the front of the field all weekend. I’m currently 5th in the Championship but I know there's more to come, so it’s just a case of going out there and getting the job done, hopefully starting with a strong weekend at Snetterton."
Sporting Director, Mark Blundell added:
"This weekend is a big one for us. We’ve definitely got a great car, couple that with the talent that Jake has and it’s a recipe for success. It’s been a bit of a mixed bag so far this season with a few little things going against us but I firmly believe it’s only a matter of time before everything comes together and we’re fighting for wins and podiums."
The action on track will begin on Saturday with a pair of free practice sessions. Qualifying will take place later that day at 15:40 (BST). For this weekend, there is no top ten shootout as the format reverts to the previous 30-minute timed session to set the grid for the opening race.
All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage available on ITV4. The races are scheduled for 11:25 (BST), 14:35 and 17:15 respectively. Live timing across the weekend is available here.
