ROKiT MB Motorsport look to carry winning momentum to Brands Hatch

May 12, 2022

Buoyed by their race winning start to the season at Donington Park, the ROKiT MB Motorsport team aim to take the momentum of their successful opener to the Brands Hatch Indy circuit this weekend - as the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship rolls into the Kent circuit for the first of two visits this year.

Experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions last time out, driver Jake Hill and the WSR-run team displayed remarkable tenacity in a day full of highs and lows. After claiming his first outright pole position on Saturday, Jake found himself excluded from the results of the opening race, sent to the back of the grid for the second race before starting back on pole position for the final race - where he ended the day with victory and the fastest lap of the race.

The shortest circuit on the calendar, Brands Hatch Indy is just 1.21-miles in length with drivers lapping well below the 50-second mark. Featuring some of the most iconic corners in British motorsport, such as Paddock Hill Bend and Druids, the circuit guarantees close wheel-to-wheel action. Jake has also enjoyed success there in the past - qualifying on the second row of the grid in 2021 and claiming a third-place podium at the 2020 season finale.

Heading to his home circuit, Jake is determined to put on a good performance in front of an energised home crowd.

“I’m so excited to head back to Brands Hatch,” Jake said. “I’m feeling really confident coming off of Donington and it’s always great to race at your home circuit. The Indy layout always gives us some good racing and I’m sure we’ll have some great battles out there this weekend. If we can carry on our performance from round one then we should be in for a good weekend all round.”

Mark Blundell, Sporting Director of ROKiT MB Motorsport, echoes Jake’s thoughts and looks forward to another strong showing for the team.

“The team has proven they have what it takes to win, now it’s all about harnessing that into strong, consistent results. I’m confident we’ll be up there and Jake will put on a good performance to make it count. Brands Hatch is always a fantastic weekend with so much support from the fans and I hope we can repay their faith.”
