On the eve of the official BTCC Season Launch at Thruxton this Wednesday (13th April), ROKiT MB Motorsport gear up for the final official day of track action before the opening round of the season.
The much-anticipated Season Launch will see fans welcomed to the Hampshire circuit as teams make their final preparations before the first round of the 2022 campaign at Donington Park just ten days later. It will also mark the first time fans have attended the launch since 2019.
ROKiT MB Motorsport’s Jake Hill will be in action throughout the day, getting behind the wheel of his BMW 330e M Sport in the third and final official pre-season test.
Previewing the day’s action, Jake looks forward to a productive programme of running at the fastest circuit in the UK.
“The Season Launch is always a great day and it’ll be even better this year as we welcome fans back,” Jake said. “As a team, it marks our final opportunity to make sure we’re fully prepared for the start of the season. We know what we want to focus on throughout the day and we’ll have six hours of track time to make the most of. Thruxton is very high-speed and a very different circuit to Donington and Croft so it will be useful for us to see how the car behaves here.”
Mark Blundell, Sporting Director of ROKiT MB Motorsport, added:
“The final pre-season test is a busy day for all of the teams and drivers as we all want to make sure we hit the ground running when we arrive at the first round. I know how much hard work the team has put in through the pre-season and I’m confident we’ll have another very productive day at Thruxton to complete that preparation.”
The day's running will be split into two sessions - the morning session from 10:00 - 13:00 followed by the afternoon session from 14:00 - 17:00. You can follow the day's action through live timing available here.
