Fresh from their first outright Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship victory, MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square head to Silverstone, the Home of British Motorsport, aiming to continue their winning form.
A sensational weekend at Croft saw Jake Hill dominate the second race of the day to win by a clear five second advantage - the biggest winning margin of the season so far - as the Motorbase Performance squad continued their strong running.
Taking their first overall win in the series, the team are buoyed by their performance as they arrive at the revered Silverstone circuit.
The circuit holds fond memories for Ollie Jackson, as the scene of his very first BTCC victory twelve months ago in a thrilling cat-and-mouse battle with Tom Oliphant.
A lap around the 1.64-mile National layout of Silverstone takes in some of the most iconic corners in British motorsport, such as Copse and Brooklands.
Following the results of Croft, the title race hots up further as Jake enters Silverstone second in the championship with 218 points, just 29 behind title leader Ash Sutton.
Ollie Jackson - #48 MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square:
“I’m really looking forward to getting back out on track at Silverstone. It will always hold special memories for me with the win there last year in the Ford Focus ST. It’s a great track to drive and I’m sure the fans will be out in force in their numbers.”
Jake Hill - #24 MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square:
“Last weekend was a dream come true, it was brilliant for myself and the team to get the win that we’ve worked so hard for and now we head to Silverstone with a real spring in our step to push on for even more.”
Mark Blundell - Sporting Director, MB Motorsport accelerated by Blue Square:
“It’s always a pleasure to return to Silverstone, particularly this year as race winners. I was very proud of the team for their efforts at Croft and I’m certain I’ll be just as proud of them this weekend. The Focus ST went very well here last year in Ollie’s hands so I look forward to a promising weekend for all of the team.”
