Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport head to Brands Hatch this weekend to contest the final round of the 2023 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship and aim to end the campaign on a high at the Kent circuit.
Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport and their WSR-run BMW 330e M Sport will make the trip to the 2.43-miles Grand Prix configuration of the iconic Brands Hatch circuit. Famed for its combination of dips, cambers, fearsome corners and hills, the circuit is still considered one of the world’s most renowned racing venues.
This year's campaign has been one to remember for the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport team and their star driver, Jake Hill. Five race wins and eleven trips to the podium across the season mean they head to the finale 3rd in the Drivers' Championship standings.
With second place in the standings up for grabs this weekend, Jake currently sits 23 points behind reigning champion Tom Ingram and if Jake achieves the runners-up spot, it would be a career-best finish in the BTCC - but third place would still equal his highest finish, 3rd (2022).
Last time out at Silverstone, the team collected their fifth victory of the 2023 BTCC season in the opening race before electrical issues, whilst leading in race two, means Jake and the team departed the circuit with a feeling of 'what might have been' and head to Brands looking for redemption.
With nothing to lose this weekend, Jake and the team will be looking to end the season on a high and add to their tally of wins and podiums when they take on the iconic Grand Prix configuration at Brands Hatch this weekend.
The action on track will begin on Saturday with a pair of free practice sessions being followed by the usual qualifying format at 15:40, which is available to watch live on Youtube and ITVX.
Being 3rd in the standings, Jake's hybrid allows him 5 seconds (per lap) in qualifying and three laps of hybrid use through race one - with the results of races one and two setting the hybrid allowance for the following race.
All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage available on ITV4 and online at ITVX. The three races are scheduled for 11:30 (BST), 14:40, and 17:25 respectively. Live timing across the weekend is available here.
