Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport will continue their BTCC campaign this week as the summer break concludes and the second half of the season commences with round six of the 2023 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Croft.
Heading north, the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport team travels to the northeast of England to compete at the 2.1-mile Croft Circuit that is renowned for its challenging, technical nature. Indeed, it is often regarded as the truest all-around test on the BTCC calendar.
Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport and Jake Hill head to round six off the back of their most successful race weekend ever in the BTCC. At Oulton Park, Jake and the team collected a double race victory, a second-placed finish, and three fastest laps to take home a whopping 62 points. That weekend catapulted Jake into third in the Drivers’ Championship as the series resumes with the second half of the season this weekend.
Jake and MB Motorsport's previous trip to the circuit last year was a positive one with a treble of top-five finishes and a healthy points haul. Prior to that in 2021, MB Motorsport scored their maiden victory in the British Touring Car Championship when Jake Hill took home the win in race two at Croft.
Jake, in his WSR-run BMW 330e M Sport, will be looking to score big points this weekend and continue to close the gap in the championship fight when action resumes this week.
The action on track will begin on Saturday with a pair of free practice sessions being followed by qualifying taking place later that day at 15:25 (BST) and available to watch live on Youtube and ITVX.
Being 3rd in the standings, Jake's hybrid allows him 5 Secs (per lap) in qualifying and three laps of hybrid use through race one - with the results of races one and two setting the hybrid allowance for the following race.
All three races take place on Sunday, with live coverage available on ITV4 and online at ITVX. The races are scheduled for 12:10 (BST), 14:35, and 17:00 respectively. Live timing across the weekend is available here.
